Walgreens Almost Makes Me Go Blind - Do I Have a Case?
In the first quarter of 2008, I sustained an eye injury that had me rushed to the emergency room, and under an IV. I was given a prescription for eye drops to accelerate the regeneration of flesh on my eye, and I filled it at Walgreens.
About a week after taking my prescription as advised, my eye was still noticably injured. I commenced into seeing my family optometrist to see if he could further diagnose me. He asked what medication I was taking, and I showed him the prescribed bottle. He then informed me that I wasn’t seeing results because my eye was in fact getting worse. I had not been prescibed optic drops, but actually optic drops for the ear. He told me to review who made this error because it could have cost me my eyesight.
After some minor investigating I found walgreens made the mistake, and I confronted them for it. They admitted it was their fault, and simply apologized, not filling my correct prescription in the process. Since this entire experience, I cannot see correctly out of the bottom of my left eye, even with aided vision.
My peers and family have told me to take action numerous times and I have not, though my small eye problem has become a bother. Is it to late to take action?
Will the case win?
Is it worth it?
I still have all of the paperwork, prescription, prescrition box, and written statements from the incident also.

Western Union Ripped Me Off: What Can I Do?
On May 26th of this year, my husband and I used Western Union to transfer $3000. I transferred the money to my husband in Houston, TX. He was going to go there on a business trip, but it was cancelled, so he remained here in Chicago. On May 27th, someone other than my husband picked up the money. After two months of going around with Western Union, including writing letters to the CEO, President of the Americas, they claim they followewd their internal protocol, and sent me a letter stating they paid the money to the correct person.
I’ve offered to obtain and send signed affidavits from my husband’s employer to prove he was here in Chicago when the money was picked up, but Western Union isn’t interested. Today, I received a letter from the director of Curstomer Advocate Dept. that if I still want to dispute the claim, I should quote, “see the back of the ’send money’ form I completed when sending the money.” I have offered to do whatever necessary to prove our case, but nobody at Western Union cares. At this point, I’m wondering if its possible to sue them for a larger amount in order to get their attention, and also find out if a class action lawsuit may be in order.
Please note that I have not spent the last two months trying endlessly to obtain money that doesn’t belong to me. Your help would be very much appreciated, as I believe this to be a theft from someone at the company, and Western Union doesn’t want anybody to know.

Can I Take Legal Action Against Collector?
My exempt funds have been frozen for over 15 days.
I sent proof of exemption to attorney office on 4/1/09 and have called several times only to get the run around.
I became aware of the freeze when I received a notice from my bank. The attorney’s office also gave me a wrong court date to appear (wrong date on court paper) and continued my case to 5/18/09
.I have been sending in monthly payments and have never received any documents pertaining to payment history and/or regarding what I truly owe (they provide different amounts each time on court docs). I have since filed an appearance for 4/21/09 (by suggestion of judge)
My question is: Can I take any legal action against the collector?

Purchased Mobile Home for Cash: Now They Want to Evict Us?
Here is my problem, need help and willing to hire a attorney that can help….
Me and my husband purchased a mobile home back in December. We paid in full. We moved in January, 2009 since they said we couldn\t move in yet in December….
Since we moved in they are giving us a hard time getting a lease, and a title for the home. Now they are trying to evict us. My husband left for the army and wont be back for 6 months.
We have nowhere to go if they evict us. They made an agreement in person, verbal of course, and now they are retracting what they said and are trying to charge us more then what they said.
Unlicensed Contractor Scams Us ($130K): Can We Get Our Funds Back?
We have a situation where a “contractor” presented himself as licensed, bonded, etc. (We have an insurance claim)
He has taken over 130K of funds and states work to this amount has been done. This is a blatent lie. We also found out that he never pulled the correct permits and is not licensed. Our home is in shambles, I am 7 months pregnant and the city is doing inspections on the home today. (we just found out he did illegal electrical work).
We HAVE filed a complaint with the Attorney General regarding consumer fraud but believe there was criminal fraud done as well as items pertaining to the IL Construction / Homeowners act.
We do not know what type of attorney we should speak to in order to attempt to gain back the funds so that we can get our house up to code, safe and completed. We were looking @ Construction Attorneys as well as Consumer Fraud attorneys and didnt know which would be more beneficial.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (Obviously this is just a small summary of our ordeal!) …..Thank you
