Can I sue the Chicago Board of Education For Abuse of My Children?
Good morning. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I am writing you because I want to sue the chicago board of education, but don’t have the money to due so. But I will feel so terrible, if the chicago public school system get away with what they have done to my children and I.
In September of 2008, my children were enrolled in a chicago public school for the first time. One in the first grade, and one in kindergarten. It was the worst experience, an experience that I never want to go through again, and do not want any one else to have to go through it. I did not trust this school with my children. My kids were coming home complaining about the things that would go on there. I constantly complained but nothing came out of it.. I even started volunteering at the school, and attending every field trip with my children.
While I was there, I witnessed children being hit by teachers, students confessed to me how they were being beaten by the disciplinarian and staff, and how the principle knew about it na ddid nothing. Fighting the school system takes so much out of you because it’s designed for the wrong doers to get away with things that they shouldn’t be doing. One of my son’s teacher hit him on the head. He was in kindergarten. As soon as I brought up the issue of physical abuse to the principle with my son and other students, I was followed and harrassed by staff members including the principle.
My children were harrassed as well. I was followed in school and out. The children there are beaten. They are verbally and physically abused. I tried to reach out to the ceo of public schools and he has ignored me. My children were frightened to go to school and missed a lot of days out of school because of it. My son was stabbed in the hand with a pencil by another student, and they did not notify me. My son stapled his finger because the teacher was negligent, I was banned from attending field trips with my children, I was banned from voluntering, and kicked out of my son’s classroom because I notified the Chicago board of education about the abuse that was going on at the school.
I have parents who will testify that the same thing happened to them when they reported the abuse as well. Children will stand up and tell you about the abuse. They even sent a security gaurd to follow and harass me one field trip.
How can they get away with this? My children and I didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. I want to sue with every ounce of energy in my body but I don’t have the money. If someone would only take an interest in my case it would mean the world to me because my children and I were severely affected by this. Why should I have to pack up an move to suburbs for my kids to have a quality school and eduaction. They even took my kindergarten son in a room alone and interrogated him. He was frightened and didnt want to go back.
Please help me. And if you cant, can you please refer someone to me who would help me even if I couldnt pay them until we won our case, and I really do believe we have a winning case, if someone would just take an interest. And care about children being abused.

Your case sounds similar to mine and I am looking for the same info. I live in CA. and I have been damaged by the school and their violations towards me and my kids. Their is never any accountability on the school. They do get away with a lot. No wonder the school is system is failing.
