About two weeks ago I took my cats to a Chicago animal shelter, one that named themselves as a “no kill” shelter. My thought was to entrust these people to give my cats a better home and a better life. Instead they put them down! They killed them basically for no apparant reason.

They were there for only five days and were killed because they said they were not adjusting to the new environment so well. Ah, hello! Any pet would be like this!

I want to get a lawyer and sue them for this, but I’m not sure what kind of Chicago attorney to look for.

Can I sue this Chicago animal shelter for killing my 2 cats?

I purchased a Nokia high-priced smartphone from an independent seller in the United States, through Amazon. The phone came with a power problem.

I contacted the seller; he refer me to Nokia. Nokia has been dragging its feet for a few months. In the meantime, I have stopped pursuing the case because of a long-lasting illness. Recently, I re-commenced the case, a month short of the supposed warranty´s expiration period.

Now Nokia, for the first time, says: ¨ . .. your Nokia device comes with a one year warranty from the date of purchase. However, upon verifying on our manufacturing records it is indicated that your device, with the serial number 446222032911145 (numbers are altered), is no longer in warranty (due to age or not intended to be used in USA market)¨.

I am thinking of taking to small claims court the seller, Amazon, and even Nokia. I demanding cancellation of the sale, on the basis of fraudulent (defective device and no warranty as promised prior to sale) sale.
I would like to hear what are my options under the law. Rather than *personal opinions*

Question_1, Do I have a case?
Question_2. Best alternative to result in a decision favorable to me.
Question _3. How do I go about serving the demand to the defendants? (only the seller can be served in person, the other two no clue how to do)
Question_4. Do I have to give a name like the CEO of said company (which I can find out online), or just company name, Attn. Legal Counsel, or maybe Attn. Principal?

My understanding is that sidewalks are public. Chalk is non-permanent. If one is obeying the rules of decency and not drawing or promoting anything slanderous, libelous or profane, and staying out of the way of pedestrians, is this activity illegal and why? (The cop who insisted I stop couldn’t tell me. I just stopped because he was a Chicago Cop telling me what to do – but as far as I know, I was not breaking any laws.)

Can I sue the Chicago public schools (Principal) for wrongly firing me? It is over the fact that I came to work late/absent 15 times. I have been with CPS for over three years and after I transferred to this school this principal became very disrespectful towards me for no reason at all. Trying to suspend me and I just been there for just 4 months.

Once a trial has begun, can a judge or prosecutor reduce the charge?

The charge is aggravated domestic battery in the state of Illinois.

Can I sue my employer for unprofessional drug testing?

My brother and I work for the same company and we recently had a surprise drug test. While we were waitng I had an emergency to run to and left. My brother stayed and was afraid he was going to fail his drug test so he picked my paperwork up and took my drug test. The owners wife was doing the drug test at the facility and never asked for any type of I.D. I was reviewing DOT laws about drug testing and my company didnt comply to the rule about identification.

Can I sue?

Can I file a civil lawsuit against my mother’s boyfriend due to emotional & physical abuse he has caused her and her family?

He has threatened to kill her with a scissors ( he was arrested for that). He has threatened to lock her up in a garage in the dead of winter. He has threatened to let the air out of her car tires. He has threatened to rip up her clothes. I can go on with this list. Please advise.

Good morning. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I am writing you because I want to sue the chicago board of education, but don’t have the money to due so. But I will feel so terrible, if the chicago public school system get away with what they have done to my children and I.

In September of 2008, my children were enrolled in a chicago public school for the first time. One in the first grade, and one in kindergarten. It was the worst experience, an experience that I never want to go through again, and do not want any one else to have to go through it. I did not trust this school with my children. My kids were coming home complaining about the things that would go on there. I constantly complained but nothing came out of it.. I even started volunteering at the school, and attending every field trip with my children.

While I was there, I witnessed children being hit by teachers, students confessed to me how they were being beaten by the disciplinarian and staff, and how the principle knew about it na ddid nothing. Fighting the school system takes so much out of you because it’s designed for the wrong doers to get away with things that they shouldn’t be doing. One of my son’s teacher hit him on the head. He was in kindergarten. As soon as I brought up the issue of physical abuse to the principle with my son and other students, I was followed and harrassed by staff members including the principle.

My children were harrassed as well. I was followed in school and out. The children there are beaten. They are verbally and physically abused. I tried to reach out to the ceo of public schools and he has ignored me. My children were frightened to go to school and missed a lot of days out of school because of it. My son was stabbed in the hand with a pencil by another student, and they did not notify me. My son stapled his finger because the teacher was negligent, I was banned from attending field trips with my children, I was banned from voluntering, and kicked out of my son’s classroom because I notified the Chicago board of education about the abuse that was going on at the school.

I have parents who will testify that the same thing happened to them when they reported the abuse as well. Children will stand up and tell you about the abuse. They even sent a security gaurd to follow and harass me one field trip.

How can they get away with this? My children and I didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. I want to sue with every ounce of energy in my body but I don’t have the money. If someone would only take an interest in my case it would mean the world to me because my children and I were severely affected by this. Why should I have to pack up an move to suburbs for my kids to have a quality school and eduaction. They even took my kindergarten son in a room alone and interrogated him. He was frightened and didnt want to go back.

Please help me. And if you cant, can you please refer someone to me who would help me even if I couldnt pay them until we won our case, and I really do believe we have a winning case, if someone would just take an interest. And care about children being abused.
