Chicago Auto Repair Shop Scammed Me: What Do I Do?

I have a 2004 Saturn Vue in which the transmission went out in May 2009. I took it to a local Chicago Transmission repair shop who rebuilt it (it took almost 3 months!), I had it for 5 weeks and it died again.

I towed it back (it was under warranty) August of 2009. They still have NOT fixed my car and seem to be avoiding me. I get a new story every time (Transmission Control Module is back ordered, then bad and reordered and now they say it won’t work with rebuilt transmissions and is working with GM to get a transmission).

What recorse do I have?

I’m sure I can get my car back (broken) but I want it fixed and felt I’ve been more than patient.

Do i threaten to take them to small claims or what?

If I want to find a lawyer, in what area of specialty do I look for?
