Auto Dealership Goes Bust: How Can I Get a Clear Title to The Car I Bought?

I had purchased a car from a dealer paid full price for it upfront with check and never received the title. I filed a complaint with the sec of state office and I was told dealer is out of business and the title of the car he sold to me has a lean from a auction company, so the sec of state cannot force issue the tiltle it’s a civil matter and they want me deal this on my own.

Can you advise me on what my chances are of getting the clear title?

You probably won’t get much response from the Secretary of State. They certainly don’t want to get involved in lawsuits between two different parties. Best bet would be to file a civil suit or small claims to get the title. If you have all the paperwork and you have proof that you have paid for he car in full, then you should be able to get the title by pursuing it as a civil case.
